The Klobuchar–Schierer Transition is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the information you share with us online. This policy explains what we collect on this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We also urge you to take steps to protect your own information, such as safeguarding your passwords and using a secure network when you submit personal information.
Information you give us
When you sign up for updates, we ask for your name, email address, and ZIP code. When you tell us you are interested in serving in the Klobuchar–Schierer Administration, we ask for your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, and the areas you would like to serve in.
We use this information to send you news and updates about the transition, to respond to you, and to understand where Minnesotans are reaching us from. We do not sell your personal information.
How your information is stored
Sign-ups and interest forms on this website are managed through Mailchimp, a third-party email service, in an account owned by the transition and kept separate from any campaign lists. Access is limited to the transition staff who need it to do their work.
How we protect your information
This website uses a number of security measures to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of the information under our control, including encrypted connections (SSL). Access to our systems is restricted to the people and organizations needed to keep them running.
When we may share information
We may release personal information when we believe it is necessary to comply with the law (for example, a lawful subpoena), to protect our rights or property, to protect the people who use this site from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful conduct, or in an emergency involving immediate danger to any person.
Cookies and analytics
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. We use cookies and Google Analytics to understand, in the aggregate, which pages people visit so we can improve the site. These tools do not give us personally identifiable information about you.
We also log IP addresses for systems administration and troubleshooting. Our log files do not contain personally identifiable information.
Children’s privacy
We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. To comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, children under 13 should not submit personal information on this site.
Unsubscribing
Every email we send includes a link to unsubscribe. You can also ask us to remove you from our list at any time by contacting us at the address below.
After the inauguration
This website will close after the inauguration and direct visitors to the Governor’s official website. Information collected here will be handled in keeping with Minnesota law and this policy.
